With a distance of 4,500km, this is one of the toughest races on the planet. Crews are all competing entirely self supported and unassisted from the start in California until finishing in Hawaii.
We will push our limits, discover who we really are. Just us, our crew, our boat and the great Pacific Ocean. We will experience nature in ways that few people on earth can even imagine.
Our team will be challenged, physically, mentally and emotionally, by the greatest force on earth, the Ocean. Sleep deprivation, physical and mental fatigue, salt sores, weight loss and the forces of nature will challenge us to breaking point.
We will be at one with our boat, and see our teammates become brothers. For safety, teams will be monitored 24/7 for the entirety of the race by the race directors. They will assist in weather routing and be on hand to muster support quickly, when it will be needed.
